Overview
Our goal is to educate and train the next generation of LSU Engineers through hands-on experience in the areas of energy management, sustainability, and direct productivity enhancement. This includes training more than 10 students per year, with a broader reach to a much wider student body. The LSU-ITAC program works with industries and facilities in every field of engineering and provides opportunities to see behind the scene operations for a thorough understanding of the process. We are looking for motivated, creative students to join our team and make a difference in their local community!

Time Commitment
- Minimum participation of 2 semesters
- 5-10 hours/week for Fall/Spring
- Optional ~20 hours/week for Summer
- Assessments at commercial buildings and industrial manufacturing facilities
- Academic excuses given for planned assessments
- Month-long paid training with professional staff and graduate students
- Report writing, training, mentorship, outreach,
teamwork, and networking
Assessment Process
- Pre-Assessment: Meet with Key Plant Personnel to
discuss areas to focus on - Assessment Day: Complete onsite visit to identify
opportunities for energy efficiency, cost savings, and production
optimization - Post-Assessment: Analyze data, collaborate with
utilities for financing opportunities, create report on recommendations
